Transparent look and a fresh new design seem to be the most notable changes.
People are reporting that they see now and then a new video player when watching videos on YouTube. Not only on their own site, the new design will apparently also be used for the embedded version.
Changing the looks and design is always quite a step for big websites like YouTube. In fact, the player is the most important thing on the page, so you don’t want to mess it up!
As you can see in the screenshots, the first thing you will notice is the transparent look of the toolbar. Overall, the HTML5 player has a lighter appearance than the current one and we can see it only when using Google’s Chrome browser (we are using v42 on a Mac).
The changes are in fact very little, the buttons like play/pause, volume, CC, or video quality are still at the same place as before. But the player has definitely a new fresh and modern look.
