Citizenfour is an Academy Award winning documentary by Laura Poitras about Edward Snowdon and the NSA spying scandeal.

Whistleblower Edward Snowden contacted filmmaker Laura Poitras and journalist Gleen Greenwald to talk about secret information he was about to leak. For his first attempts of contact he chose the nickname “Citizen Four”. This was followed by the first interview with Edward Snowden by the filmmakers in Hong Kong.

The film won an Academy Award for best documentary in 2015. The surprising choice of the jury is an important and courageous political sign for this topic, giving the film more awareness. Director Laura Poitras and journalist Gleen Greenwald accepted the award personally and thanked Edward Snowden and all the journalists involved.

Defense provided 2 DVDs of Citizenfour as exhibit in Edwards suit. So film in public domain as unsealed record. On HBO 2/23/15. Leaking $.
